We went for lunch as a last minute decision and were not disappointed. Relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Loved chatting to the owners about the history of the place and their journey to be there. Food was great.... parpadelle with slow cooked lamb (large portion but a taste sensation) and stone bass with cabbage and anchovy (delicious - maybe the look did not quite reflect how good the taste was). I&rsquo;d also highly recommend the brocolli side dish which I could have eaten as a main. Deserts (Budino [chocolate pudding in photo] and tiramisu) were unnecessary but truly lovely. We had been previously and noticed how much brighter and elegant the place looked this time. Sad it has had to close with lock down but we will definitely be back.

A Cena

Every time I go out to play, I will open this food platform to take a look. This time, it is called Buenos Aires Argentine Steakhouse on the platform recommendation. After punching in, it is as good as ever. Five-star praise. I hope not to be proud and continue to work hard.

Ordered a delivery on a Saturday, and we were a little disappointed with the portion sizes. When paying nearly &pound;12 per main I would expect a little more lamb / chicken in the main dishes. We had about 4 to 5 pieces. Have ordered from here before and was worth the money, so maybe it was a one off. But it would make me consider somewhere else next time. Food tasted good, but had to be reheated on receiving the delivery.

This once was so nice we had breakfast there twice in three days. Very nicely decorated, and well spaced restaurant with nice servers. The scrambled eggs on white toast and bacon was fantastic. Definitely a place to return to.

Just as it describes itself, this is the epitome of an old English pub but for us, it lacked atmosphere. The pub was quite empty and unfortunately there was a rather loud male chatting incessantly to the bar man at a very loud volume. We almost felt like we were intruding in a private meeting. It&#39;s quite quirky inside with ample seating and a number of separate rooms, including an outside area. We noted that they were strictly adhering to the COVID requirements which was reassuring. They have quite a decent range of beers which was nice but we didn&#39;t feel an urge to linger. We didn&#39;t eat here but did notice that the menu is full of the usual pub staples, ie., everything with chips! It&#39;s nice enough but not a pub we would visit again, it just lacked something.

ExcellentLovely rustic Italian cafe. Delicious food, great sized portions, good prices and nice staff. Would highly recommend.

We try and come to A&#39; Cena a few times a year and it is always a wonderful meal and experience.  The menu is small, everything freshly made and excellent

A lovely, welcoming environment, stylish and interesting too. Some of the best food we&#39;ve enjoyed in ages. Definitely recommended!

The food here is great. The ambiance is great. The table settings are great. The waiter Ryan is great.... But! Unless the owners acknowledge that the &#39;tall blonde waiter&#39; is really doing the restaurant a disservice, this much loved local place will end up empty! If the food is a little off one night people won&#39;t mind, as long as they are looked after, spoken to respectfully and made to feel welcome. Unfortunately, feedback is consistent that not all diners are welcomed in this way at A Cena any more. Instead you get ignored for several minutes when you would like to order, requests go unfulfilled and whilst the charm is turned on for some diners it is very much turned off for others! It would take a lot to put me off coming here after being a fan for 20 years, but I do wish they&#39;d pull their socks up!

Our group of six picked A Cena when we arrived in Richmond - we couldn&#39;t have been more please with everything this wonderful restaurant has to offer. The service, food and ambience were outstanding!

Excellent recommendations by our waiter, delicious food and cocktails. So grateful that this is a local restaurant to us!
